Experience

Michael has over 17 years of experience in corporate taxation including tax planning and compliance, tax provision, and internal control for tax related processes. Michael joined SingerLewak from Ernst & Young, and his professional experience includes 13 years working at Big 4 accounting firms and over 3 years experience as the head of Tax Department at a public traded technology company.

Michael assisted public and private companies in a full range of corporate tax matters including FAS 109, FIN 48, mergers and acquisitions and international structures. He also assisted clients with their SOX 404 compliance. Michael's clients ranged from established multi-national companies to start-up companies in the Technology industry including Software, Semiconductor, Computer Peripherals, Contract Manufacturing, and Internet Commerce.

Michael earned an M.B.A in Taxation and a B.S. in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude) from California State University East Bay in Hayward, California. Michael is a C.P.A. licensed in the states of California and Washington. Michael is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountant and the California Society of CPAs.

Michael has been serving as the CFO of Asia America Multi-technology Association (“AAMA”) since January 2007. AAMA is a 30-year old Silicon Valley’s non-profit leading network for fostering business growth, entrepreneurship and capital investment in technology enterprises across Silicon Valley and Asia. Michael speaks fluent Mandarin.
