Mark is the Department Head of SingerLewak’s Orange County Tax practice, the Niche Leader of the Entrepreneur & Family-Owned Businesses business sector, Chairman of the AICPA Tax Practice & Procedures Committee, and is currently serving a term as Chairman of the SingerLewak Board of Directors.
Mark has more than 27 years of tax experience including more than 16 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a tax partner, and four years with Ernst & Young. His clients have ranged in size from emerging small and mid-cap companies to Fortune 500 businesses. Mark’s expertise includes corporate planning, acquisition due diligence and structuring including M&A tax analytics, tax compliance, tax provisions, and structuring alternatives designed to achieve an optimal effective tax rate.

Education & Affiliations
Mark is a Certified Public Accountant in Missouri and California, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University with a double major in Accounting and Economics and earned an MBA from the University of Arkansas Walton School of Business.
Mark is a frequent speaker and writer and has written or edited over 150 tax journal articles in the last ten years. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Tax Adviser, and is a regular contributing editor for the Tax Clinic column. Mark is a member of the California Society of CPAs state wide Tax Committee and was Co-Chairman of the Mid-America Tax Conference. In the community, Mark has served on the Board of KWMU (an NPR affiliate), The United Way, Junior Achievement, and The Youth and Family Center. Mark is a Distinguished Past President and Board Member of the Downtown St. Louis Optimist Club.
